Glossary and e-Estudo
Action Level
A plan in which an action is performed corresponding to a determined Agent in the e-estudo: the Planning can be accomplished in three Levels of Action in the Pedagogic Administration Module: Net Action Level; School Action Level and Class-teacher Schedule Level of Action.
Agent
The one who will launch data and recover data processed by the System.
Administrator of the System
It refers to the Administration of the
e-Estudo system.
Administrator of the

Client
It is the computer that sends the requests to the server.
Documentation
A collection of information to the programmer or to the user on the software, its development, installation and use.
Download
The process of transferring a copy from one file in a remote computer to another computer through the net; the received file is recorded in a disk in the local computer.
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
It is a file containing a list of answers to the most frequent questions on a certain subject
Grades
It refers to each one of the grades (either monthly or bi-monthly averages) that will make up the final grade.
Help
A group of explanations regarding each action.
Level of Action
It is the plan in which one performs the Action corresponding to a determined Agent in the

Log in/on Log off/out
It connects or disconnects to the computational system. To enter the net, you need to type in your identification (Name of User) in general, followed by a password. To log off/out means to disconnect; to finish an on-line session appropriately.

Managing the System
It refers to managing the
e-Estudo system.
Module
Each one of the large units of the e-estudo: the School Administration Module and the Pedagogic Administration Module.
Stage
Each one of the three phases in which basic education is divided: infantile education (day care and pre-school), fundamental (elementary) teaching and medium (high school) teaching.
Teaching Modality
Each one of the two in which infantile education is divided: day care and pre-school.
Teaching Net
An institution made up of two or more Teaching Units.
Server
In a net, it is a computer that administers and supplies programs and information to the other connected computers. In the model client-server, it is the responsible program for a determined service requested by a client.
System
The group of
e-Estudo softwares.
Source Code
A group of instructions, written in programming language, that needs to be compiled or interpreted by the computer so that it can be executed. The access to the code-source allows modifying the program, to the one who dominates programming languages.

According to SourceForge.net, it is the largest site of development of Free Software (SL) in the world, accommodating more than 100.000 projects and more than 1.000.000 of registered users, with a centralized resource of administration of projects, editions, communications and codes. It is the largest deposit of available SL in the Internet and it accommodates more products for development of SL than any other site or net in the world.
TICs
TIC is the acronym for Information and Communication Technologies: data processing, Internet, multimedia, etc. and the telecommunication systems that allow the distribution of the information.
Teaching Unit
A school or other unitary institution that uses the
e-Estudo. .
User
The name used by the user of the system to log in. Not always is it your own name (there can be more than one in the system). it is sometimes the e-mail itself. It is usually conjugated with the password.
